Houses!!!

Its about that time....my husband and I are actively searching for a home! I have to admit that I am excited and scared all at the same time! I know we are ready and will no get in over our heads (hubby is very financially savy-thank goodness). The scared part comes in at----this is not like an outfit that I don't like and I can return it. I'm not sure I can find something that I can live in and be HAPPY in for YEARS & YEARS & YEARS (*tear*)!! That just seems so very scary to me. Being somewhere for such an extended period of time, that I have to pay for, scares the bageezes out of me, LOL!.!.!. don't get me wrong, I'm excited to look, but then I have to keep in mind our budget, our wants vs. our NEEDS! Neither one of us can fix anything and that scares me as well. I am lucky that I do have 2 brothers, a stepdad and friends that are handy (wasn't in my genes).
LIST of things we have or know already: realtor (check); part of town (check); school district (check)
If anyone has any tips on what we need to be careful with, watch for, focus on, etc..., that would be great. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!!

Sunday Funday!

I could not have asked for a better Sunday! The weather is great, 65ish (or something like that), not windy just breezy, my niece is here, woke up with no headache, had waffles for breakfast(Mickey Mouse waffles that is), aired up my bike tires and went for a little ride (wow...I'm out of shape, but was still great) and have been playing with my new phone to figure it out yesterday and today. All in all it has been a great fun Sunday Funday! Yes, I have not "done" anything but I think that adds to MY funday! The end of last week was so chaotic and stressful. I contemplated leaving my job due to it, UGH! Getting off at 11:30pm and starting work the next morning at 9:00am is a bit much. The thing is......I shouldn't have had to be on the phone in the first place. That was a supervisors task, but I did it. I do like my job and helping others, but there comes a time where I HAVE TO put myself and self care first (very hard thing for me to do). I'm torn as to what I should do. I do have a LOT more options now that I have my LICENSE (still in shock). I guess we will see. Anyone have ideas for me?

(another niece and I; made the end of the week so nice to come home!)

March 11, 2009

I am disbelief! Dumbfounded! In awe! I never thought this day would happen......

I blogged a couple months ago about not being sure about taking my test again for my therapy license, but I'm so glad I decided to do it!

I still think I am in shock over the whole thing. Once I shared the news with my co-workers all I could do is hold back the tears of joy! We also did a little 'happy dance'

Now comes the hard part......do I stay at my job where I could get few hours or get a new job where I would get a lot more hours? HMMMM!!

**thank you to those that were there for me and gave me nothing but support. you will never know what that meant and still means to me**

Happy Birthday to me?!

As I wake up this morning, on the day of my birth, I sit and wonder a few things: 1-how did 31 years fly by so quickly! 2-am I seriously 31....I guess its a good thing that I don't feel it ;o) 3-oh lord, I don't feel it, but do I look it? ACK!!!! Damn wrinkles! 4-I feel that I should have more then I do (baby, new home, better job). Anyhow, enough pondering! It just doesn't feel like my birthday, I guess that's due to it being a Sunday. UGH!!! I hate Sundays! One fabulous thing that I'm so excited about is the fact that one of my best friends is moving back to Wichita today, my cousin that I haven't seen since my wedding (2+ years ) is coming to town next week (and her birthday was this past Friday), and finally.....another cousin is coming over today with Emma (prior post) to make harumaki (eggrolls for those that don't know Japanese, lol), & fried rice. YUMMMM! This is why I can't stand Chinese restaurants, I am spoiled because I grew up helping make the real thing. Tastes wayyy better then anything in the 'fast food' chains!

What I have been up to - -

Thought I would post some pictures of someone who has been occupying my time.........
Her name is Emma Rae. I call her Thursday, but this little one has many names ;o) This is my cousins daughter that was born on Jan. 8, 2009. Ronda, my cousin, didn't decide on a name before or when she was born so therefore I called her Thursday, since she was born on Thursday (Elvis' birthday as well). But, when Ronda would talk to her in the womb, she was refer to her as 'Bill.' We are not sure why, but when she did, Emma/Bill would respond by kicking...maybe that was a clue as to not name her Bill. (so to keep up her names: Emma, Thursday, Bill..) Ronda's older daughter, Miranda, did not/does not like the name Emma (not sure why) and called/calls her 'Not Emma' and now calls her 'Martha,' random I know! (names- Thursday, Emma, Bill, Not Emma, Martha- what a mouth full!) So, after all the random names this baby is called her birth certificate arrives and her "official" name is 'Owens,' which is her last name. I guess she is like 'Cher' or 'Madonna' now, sweet! This part of the story goes like this: the lady that does the birth cert. at the hospital wanted to leave early the day Ronda and Emma were leaving the hospital and since she did not have a name yet Ronda asked for the forms and got a lot of grief over this. I guarantee Ronda is not the first or that last to do this. She in fact did this with her first daughter. All you have to do is give the parent the forms to fill out, they fill them out, and send them in to the court (I believe), but NOOOOOOOOOO. This loony bird from the hospital gave Ronda the forms AND she also sent them in to the court (or where ever), and DID NOT tell Ronda this! Now the baby's name is 'Owens' (her last name)....ugh!!! Ronda, now, has to go to court, pay, and explain how it wasn't her fault about the birth certificate to the judge and what other hoops they make her jump through!! I think this is just crap! Dragging a baby to court for something you DID NOT do!! So frustrating!!! She is an infant and does not need to be exposed to the germs that are in a courthouse. Some of those people are just fowl! I guess a good thing is that Ronda can totally change her name, if she really wanted to since she technically doesn't have a name. I mean goodness....she has tons to pick from: Thursday, Emma Rae, Bill, 'Not Emma', Martha. LOL! I hate thinking about it. I am just hoping Ronda calls me so I can watch the nugget while she is at court. I just love her so much and it makes me want to have one myself.....ACK! Can't believe I just said that!!!

I am horrible....

I have had this blog a few months and already I'm slacking! UGH! I honestly mean to get on here to share with everyone, but nope......I forget. I didn't think at 30 (30 3/4 actually) the mind was suppose to go this quickly, GEEZ!

WHATS NEW: working and working and oh ya, working! It seems that is all I do. I enjoy my job, for the most part, but hate that it consumes so much of my time. I have limited time for my husband and furry daughter and that is the part that I hate =o< I guess once I get the hang a little better I can do what I want with the people I work with. One great thing, is that I do have the ability to work from home at times!!! That is a plus. Only bad thing, is that they prefer us to come in and I think I honestly get more done at home, go figure.

Lot of confusion?!?

I am in a state of confusion lately. I took a job, but have heard a job I have been wanting for the past year is getting ready to come available and a friend works there so I may have a little bit of a gain in the interview process. I am needing to take a test that can totally boost my esteem and confidence in my career. Have taken the test once, but I failed. I have thought about doing it again and now I'm not so sure. I would have about a month to study and when I say study I mean HARD CORE study (4 of the 4inch binders FULL of information, reading books, notes, etc)! Not your average study session. I studied FOREVER last time, but the test didn't seem to ask anything I knew which made me feel so disappointed in myself and my abilities. Being able to study all day would work, but I work full time and sometimes more then that. I am just stuck as to what I should do and felt that I needed to "release" some of this confusion and stress. thanks for reading if you did and also sorry if you read all of this 'junk' ;o)

A little late....oops!

I know this is a little late, but what the heck! I saw on a fabulous blog, 'Endless Possibilities', some super cute blocks to display for the holiday season and of course I bought them. I can NEVER pass up and great deal for a great item/items! Anyhow, here is a picture of me and my super duper fabulous Christmas blocks that were made, yes....MADE!I kept mine in the plastic they arrived in due to the fact that a majority of our things are still in storage until we can buy a house and I DON'T want them scratched or messed up in the least bit and thought this would save them and I'm also packing them up tight and alone in a plastic container so I can keep an eye on these fabulous decorations. I plan on visiting her site as well as her blog to purchase a few more items. All I can say is that she is great and her products are FABULOUS, can I say that anymore?! FABULOUS, FABULOUS, FABULOUS! ;o)

Oh Christmas Tree....

You Are a Traditional Christmas Tree

For a good Christmas, you don't have to re-invent the wheel.

You already have traditions, foods, and special things you bring out every year.

November 20, 2008

These are a few of my favorite things....

This is a small list of that I like/love during the holidays. I will continue the list as I think of more!!
*Smell of baking pies in the oven…..yum-o!
~Hearing family and friends laugh & reminisce
*Spending time with family
~Hearing the sound of wrapping paper being crumbled and tossed by my bebies (yes, bebies, not babies, nieces and nephews)
*Watching Sadie smell all the presents to see if there is some sort of “food” type item or toy in there for her
~Watching Sadie take the gift out of a Christmas bag. Those ones that are the easiest to do, toss the gift in and put tissue paper in as well, she loves those
*Celebrating my nephews birthday….on Christmas and Sadie’s birthday, on Christmas Eve!
~Watching their faces light up when they get a gift they have wanted for so long
*Listening to them talk about how excited they are with their present
~Wrapping gifts (ones I bought and helping my mom wrap as well)
*The lights on a Christmas tree as well as ornaments
~Watching the kids decorate the tree (this coming weekend)
*Going to movies during the day (a little bit cheaper, but not much)
~Sitting by the fireplace and warming my tootsies!
*Drinking apple cider from Starbucks and hot chocolate

~Power shopping like a crazy woman ;o)
*Watching it snow, not ice, SNOW (only when we don’t have to go anywhere)

Today is year #2!!!

Today my husband and I have been married for 2 years. We were married on a beautiful, crisp, sunny November afternoon( 4:30 to be exact)!!! I can remember the events of the day so vividly: up around 8:30ish to go with the girls to get their hair and mine done. Figure out where Hubby to be was to watch our baby girl (our dog). Gather veil and other odds and ends to keep me occupied while sitting for HOURS (literally). Getting a phone call saying the Flower Lady (nice title I know) was waiting at the venue for someone, OOPS! Mom, rushing back to the hotel to get some of her stuff together and rush to the venue, which was VERY close thank goodness for the KC Plaza, everything is RIGHT THERE! The girls getting their makeup done, then me...........! I was NOT, I repeat NOT, happy with my makeup!! I looked like clown town, for real! After I paid, didn't want to deal with anything more, I started to wipe the "clown town" off my face with my jacket. We pile into the car and head back to the hotel, load all our stuff in multiple cars (my dress, girls dresses, moms dress, makeup, shoes, after clothes, etc), then FINALLY head to the venue!!!
As we pull in we see Brett (hubby to be) and all the men outside drinking beers and chatting. The girls yell at the boys to go inside so I can come in. I didn't think anything of it. The boys get Brett into the kitchen and I sneak into the place and jump into the elevator. THATS WHEN ALL THE DRAMA STARTED ;o) As I was getting into my dress the cake lady wants her check, the photographer wants pictures, the girls need help locating things (and since I was organized I was the only one that knew where things were at, SERIOUSLY!). One of the Jr. Bridesmaid, my gorgeous niece Lindi, had misplaced her dress and was sobbing and sobbing! I was not freaking out, weird I know! I just told her "if you have to walk down that isle in your jeans and hoodie, then so be it" and I was truthful. God knows I sure as heck wanted to do that same thing ;o). My friends mom, so sweet, went back to the hotel to search her room and FOUND THE DRESS!!!!! Brought the "missing" dress back and Lindi was ready to go. I paid for the cake, got some pictures done and helped the girls with their dresses and finished with mine. I thought the "uh oh's" were over with....NOPE! We take more pictures and blah blah blah. Then right before the ceremony starts we realize.....NO MUSIC!!! We had forgotten to bring our downloaded cd to the venue, OOPS! I think my mom and some of the girls thought I was going to FREAK OUT! And I DIDN'T! I honestly didn't care if there was music at all. All I knew was that this was the day I had been waiting for - forever and music didn't matter at all! The lady that runs the venue found some cd's in her office and was so very helpful (thanks Susan!). She kept saying she was "wowed" by how calm I was and wasn't letting things get to me. I told her "thats just it....they are things and don't need to worry about it." We got the music and got lined up and now its show time! Everyone walks down the isle and gets into place. Now - its my turn! I thought for days, weeks, months leading up this moment that I would be so nervous with everyone looking at me, but nope. I was looking straight ahead at the one who I now call Husband.
I look at all the pictures and I have this goofy smile on my face, but thats okay and I don't care. I was so excited and ready to be joined with him for the rest of my life. I'm not too emotional and hold in my feelings at times and try not to cry, but I couldn't help it. I was feeling so much joy and excitement and being so overwhelmed I just let loose when I was saying my vows. I could barely say a couple words, but started to laugh because I was crying and then it was all good. We both got through them and now we are husband and wife as declared by the goofy minister that reminds me and my cousin of the guy off Princess Bride "Mawage. Mawage is wot bwings us togeder tooday..." Of course at the time I didn't notice his weird voice and whatnot, but I could hear my cousin behind me laughing and trying not to laugh myself. I heard her say something along the lines of "mawage...." and then it was so hard not to bust out laughing. As we all walked back down the isle and had a chance to "breathe" and relax, my cousin and I thought we were going to not be able to make it to the bathroom we were laughing so hard about the "mawage....", but we did (lol). The ceremony was over it was time to start our lives together!! I am so incredibly happy and thank God everyday for the gifts in my life!!

November 5, 2008

What a Wednesday!

Seriously....what a Wednesday! First, we have a new President. Agree or disagree, it doesn't really matter now ;o) Secondly, we are under a tornado watch!! Yep, you read that right...a tornado watch in November. It has been unseasonably warm, but this is a little much - even for Kansas! And third, its Greys Anatomy Eve!!!! That means that tomorrow is Hahn's last show (thank goodness). I had never been a fan of hers and am glad she is leaving. Others may disagree and that's fine, this is just my opinion.

Nope, no baby yet, UGH! She is now a couple days overdue which is not normal for my sister in law, but I guess this last baby wants to make a GRAND ENTRANCE ;O)
